Inspiration Line Update: "The Power of Your Holistic Heart"!

Dear Friends (and Total Complete Strangers)!

I have just recorded a new message on my Free, 24-hour Inspiration Line for your enjoy-itude and inspirement...

You may listen at 215.552.8850

If you called a few days ago you would've have heard another message (themed: "Go with the Flow") which included a further update that I am no longer inviting donations for it, as doing so didn't create a buzz, and I'm all about the buzz, babykins!

In my message today, I say that your holistic heart is your:

a) Physical organ
b) Emotional guide
c) Center of wisdom and discernment

I also say that my friend O once shared (at a performance art piece at the Black Women's Arts Festival) that the heart develops BEFORE the brain. This should remind us to put our hearts first in life, and THEN our brains.

Lastly, I close with how when we live a heart-based/heart-centered life, we triple our power and effectiveness, have better relationships, and are much happier overall.

In between, I share some persunal stuff you can only experience if you call!

Thanks for being here. My audience ROCKS!

P.S. And special thanks to a reader in Oregon, for the heartfelt advice and encouragement about applying for disability!

In (he)art and community,

Cassendre

Addiction/Recovery: "Living Sober, Getting Active"

Dear Friends and Total Complete Strangers!

Nature/the Universe abhors a vacuum. It is not realistic to expect to easily NOT do something. You're always going to be doing something else instead, so why not consciously select what that is? That why I like the book "Living Sober" so much; it includes a chapter called "Getting Active", which lists lots of recovery and non-recovery things one can do to keep from engaging in the undesired compulsive behavior. ☺ https://sites.google.com/site/aspiritualrecovery/literature-pages/living-sober/getting-active

Hope it helps!

Food & Drug Journal: Managing Bipolar, PTSD, and Hypertension

I wish I could still my mind.
It's good that my therapist specializes in anxiety because, wow, have I got spades of it!

I am at a library, having just eaten a few large raw carrots, to take my lithium orotate with. I had hoped to take it with cold pressed extra virgin coconut oil, but I left the travel portion at the home of my current companion. Thankfully I do have the main, large container at my office. I find it very helpful to take a teaspoon of the stuff twice a day. It's good for the brain, gives you energy, and helps you lose weight. I have lost 2lbs since the 15th!!
Here is what I believe contributed to the weight release:

a)High amount of kale daily - both raw and cooked
b)Apple cider vinegar daily
c)Lithium orotate turns out to act as a diuretic (says my psychiatrist whom I had my first session with today)
d)Green tea - also acts as a diuretic

Today my psychiatrist, in doing my psychiatric evaluation ("psych eval") and discussing my medications told me the following:

1)If you have hyperension (ongoing high blood pressure) you can and should still take medication, just find what works with your psych meds. For instance, I was taking an ACE inhibitor (lisinipril) and a diuretic (chlorothalidone), and stopped both in favor of the over the counter (OTC) mineral supplement lithium orotate (LO), which I had seen many positive reviews of by users with bipolar disorder. I have seen that it appears to also be a wonderful help to those with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), I have both.
Today is day 6 of being on LO and I feel good on it. I was afraid of telling that to my psych Dr., concerned that if I said I felt pretty good that I would no longer qualify for SSI, which I am in the process of collecting documents for the application of. She said that didn't make any difference, your past history and ability to earn income is what counts there.
I think that even if I am actually doing well now, it has only been for 6 days, and actually for 2. Days 1 through 4 felt pretty manic and I just calmed myself down saying that my feeling manic may not have anything to do with the LO. I may just have been either manic or becoming so when I began to take it.
Anyway, I told my psych Dr. that I stopped taking my blood pressure meds and she said that...
2)What I should have been started on was a beta blocker. These do not interact with psych meds, she said. So I will be seeing my nurse practitioner soon and request a beta blocker.
I will also take lisinipril when I get to the office later today as I still have my supply. I am so grateful I heeded the hunch of not discarding it!
3)Sometimes a diuretic will actually STOP frequent urination!
I do not recall exactly how she described it, but she said, when I told her that I had been having majorly frequent urination, "Oh, that's the lithium." I had no idea! I told her that I had stopped taking both the lisinipril and chlorothalidone because I had read that you shouldn't take them with LO. She said that I may be able to take the cholorothalidone because the way it works may actually stop the frequent urination feature of the lithium. I am going to get the beta blocker and then keep the lithium and see how that goes, if the lithium works as a diuretic and calms down, then I may not need the chlorothalidone.
4)It is still a good idea to get your blood checked if you are taking LO. It is still lithium, and you could still have some of the side effects of taking it, especially if you take it long-term.

The best news I got today is that I lost two pounds!
Also, that what was making me pee so much was likely the lithium.
The reason that is good news is that I thought my sleeping was bad. You see, I have sleep apnea and when I first started seeing a sleep specialist and using a CPAP breathing machine to sleep at night, I learned that my longtime prevalent frequent urination was caused by the sleep disorder. Something about the breathing, body's electrical system and signals being sent, possibly from the heart... I don't recall all the exact details, but basically my breathing was causing my body to think I needed to urinate, so I was getting up out of bed 2-5 times a night to use the bathroom!
Sure enough, after using the CPAP, that went away. What a relief to take public transportation and not have to stop so often to find a restroom!
So I can literally rest easier now knowing that I am likely sleeping better than I thought!

I continue to improve my eating habits and take the LO which I am kinda sorta falling in love with.
Funny thing. Psych Dr. says her clients who have taken it stopped seeing her. I told her that must mean it worked. Her response: "Not enough data." Highlarious!

FOOD JOURNAL
by Cassendre Xavier

Breakfast
Thursday, March 9th, 2017
Glenolden, Pennsylvania, USA

Primary Goals:
Lose weight
Lower blood pressure
Improve mental health/manage bipolar & PTSD symptoms

Secondary Goals:
Improve physical appearance
Inform and inspire others
Keep my period and have it be regular always (I am 48 and I LOVE my period!)
Be aligned and attracted to my Divine life purpose/work/mission
Receive the blessings that only come from eating the right foods (particularly a high
amount of fresh plants/raw and living vegan foods)

I heat up 32 oz water on the stove, stirring with my finger til it feels almost too warm, then leave it on for another minute or so as I wash and cut a lemon. I squeeze half the lemon in then turn the stove off. Poured it into my 32oz water bottle and drank it slowly over 10 minutes.
Waited 30 minutes to let the liver flushing beverage do its thang. During the wait I wash the 2 tomatoes I had set aside for my breakfast today. I find it much easier to stay on course when my meals are prepared ahead of time.
 I had set aside:

2 small bananas
2 plum tomatoes
And a small bag of prunes

The bananas are high in potassium, but they are binding, so I add the prunes to counteract that as prunes are a known and powerful natural laxative.
I am very in love with plum tomatoes, which are actually higher in potassium than bananas, and also they contain a high amount of lithium.
The prunes also are very high in nutrients that are helpful for treating the symptoms of bipolar disorder and PTSD.
I have hypertension and am trying to address my blood pressure levels naturally.
I include apple cider vinegar and low sodium/high potassium "lite salt" to my meals.

My vitamin supplements right now are:
Vitamin C
Magnesium (very important for mental health and mood management)

My mineral supplement is:
Lithium Orotate (reported to work very well in treating bipolar, PTSD, and depression)

My herbal supplements and herbs are:
Turmeric (a powerful anti-inflammatory that is also good for people with bipolar disorder)
Fresh Cilantro (removes heavy metals from the blood, which is very good for people with hypertension)
Cayenne (blood cleanser)

Every day I try to eat:
Fresh kale
Cilantro
Fresh fruit
Carrots

Every day I also:
Think happy thoughts
Visualize and casually "meditate" while on public transportation
Think happy thoughts
Think happy thoughts
Recognize my progress
Remember when I was raw and happy
Start mentally preparing myself for the raw success that used to scare me
Think happy thoughts
Desire, intend, and visualize my writing assisting people.
I hope today that includes you!

Affirming Abundance: Spend Some Money! (Inspiration Line Update!)

Dear Friends and Total Complete Strangers!

Yesterday morning at 9 I posted the following on Facebook:

New message on my Free, 24-hour Inspiration Line! "Affirming Abundance: Spend Some Money!" (215-552-8850) Written article of the same title and topic coming soon at cassEndrExavier dot wordpress dot com, or cassEndrExavier dot blogspot dot com. (Never let it be said!)
=====================

Here now is that article!

Sunday, March 5, 2017
3:30pm, Glenolden, Pennsylvania, USA

Affirming Abundance: Spend Some Money!

Friday night I went out to dinner with a dear platonic female poet friend, someone whom I haven't seen in over a year and possibly for as long as 2 years, due to my extremely non-social mental health and other issues at the time...
Afterwards I was headed to where I am now, a sweetie-turned-part-time host/provider of lodge-ational qualities.
I had two travel options, one of which would cut my travel time in half which I would have greatly appreciated as it was getting late, and I was tired and yearned to lie down, rest, and retire for the evening.
Trouble is, it was only Friday, and my SEPTA Zone 1 monthly TransPass would not have covered my ride. I thought of and began planning to fudge my way to a free ride.
I was going to show the conductor my pass, and hope he let my story of mistaking Friday for a weekend slide. I told my dining companion my plan, and I was cheerful about it. Then I recalled that I had in my wallet not one, but two, count 'em, TWO tickets for that ride, purchased a couple of months earlier, in case I needed to use them.
I realized, that well, guess, what sweetie, Ya need to use one now!
So often we are reluctant to spend what we have, and this happens most often when we see our funds or resources start to run low.
Everything we do is done in the spirit of either faith and abundance, or fear and scarcity. I knew that if I kept with my plan of trying to get a free ride I would be affirming fear and scarcity to the universe and I would then attract circumstances that matched that feeling and state of mind. If I didn't use one of my two tickets, I would be saying in essence, "I don't have," and "I can't afford..." I noticed my feelings behind wanting to not use one of the tickets... I was afraid I would not be able to buy more when I needed them.
Quickly I steered the ship if my mind's thoughts to the opposite direction...
First I immediatedly decided against trying to get a free ride. I determined to use a ticket, and then I started to notice my feelings there again.... Some of them were fear of an even lower supply, but then I started applying the medicine of gratitude and self-affirmation...
I realized how awesome it was that I had not only been able to provide for myself a monthly TransPass, but that I had easily been able to buy those two tickets. I told myself those were there precisely for my use, and that now I had a need to use them.
I reminded myself that money always comes, and of the importance of keeping the energetic flow of money moving - not letting it become stagnant.
So I invite you to do the same thing:
Keep your flow of abundance moving and going, because then you are attracting more. As it goes it must return, yes?

Here is what to think when you start running low of funds:

1)I am connected to the Divine Source of All abundance and prosperity. This amount of (whatever you have and are monitoring or worried about) is NOT a measure of my worth, my quality of life, nor what is ultimately possible for me. I trust, and all is well.
2)I am grateful for what I have and I know I will both create and attract even more.
3)When I have less, I am still joyful and abundant. I just have less.
4)This resource is here for me to spend and enjoy. I am grateful for this and my spending it completes the circle of my energetic flow. I trust, and all is well.
5)When I spend money, I and my money benefit others. I am thrilled to be able to contribute to the universe's wellness by sharing what I have!
6)I am prosperous in all ways. Even my troubles are here to bless me, if I seek their lessons, learn, and move on. I become a better persun when I easily accept everything in my life, and make the best and most of it. Sometimes my prosperity shows and sometimes it doesn't, but I always know it is there. I always know I am a prosperous persun!
7)My heart is full of joy, love, and light. This attracts better things to me, and I am aligned with all of my good!
8)It is my earthly and Divine duty to share what I have. I remember this when my funds are low. "If you have one dollar, you have enough to share." --mother of pop icon Rhianna, recently awarded honors for her philanthropy

May you always trust in your own abundance and prosperity, regardless of what your wallet, bank account, or kitchen cupboards show.
AFFIRM: I prosper in all good things. I trust, and all is well!

Very best to you,

Cassendre

Many of you who are called to my work, which is to inspire, uplift, and entertain, are like me: healers, teachers, writers, artists. You may be an activist, a poet, an actor of any gender, a community leader, a director of a nonprofit organisation that focuses on a lifelong vision of yours... You are on a divine mission and life purpose to make a big change in your region, or in the world.
You want to help other people feel, live, and do better. You want to do those things yourself, and perhaps you share with others your struggle and challenges, and most importantly, how you got or get through those tough times.
People who are here to do big things feel big pain, too. Most of that pain comes from fear of success, fear of failure, fear of being happy, productive, loved. Fear of being healthy.
Maybe you were abused growing up, or maybe you struggle with an addiction (or three)! You don't know how to love yourself well enough and you don't know how to feel good for more than three seconds at a time. Maybe you know how to feel good for one whole solid minute, but you're deathly afraid that proverbial and always present other shoe is going to drop.
One of the ways we act on our fears is by procrastinating. If we procrastinate then we don't have to think about doing the work we came here to do. Then we don't have to face success, or be happy, to only then lose those good feelings and circumstances when that other shoe drops.
Well, the goal shouldn't be to try to stop procrastinating for good. That'll never happen. We can best manage and reduce procrastinating by radically accepting and then loving our habits.
Watching too many episodes of Judge Judy when you should be finishing your application for that arts grant? Love yourself and accept your procrastination.
Next time you procrastinate, do this:
a)Tell yourself that you are definitely going to finish the project, with or without procrastination. See yourself doing so. Know that it will be done!
b)Remember all the projects you did finish and notice how each one of those successes also contained periods of procrastination!
c)Enjoy the procrastinating task. Watching too much YouTube or hanging on The Facebooks too long? Get up and get yourself a cup of tea, then return to really enjoy and savor that procrastination task. You've already told and reassured yourself that you WILL complete the project, and you know you'll stop procrastinating eventually.
d)Keep focusing on loving yourself. You're the only you you have, and if it's too hard to be nice to yourself outright, start practicing by treating yourself as you would a beloved child or other persun in your life you get along with very easily and care for deeply.
Your being gentle with yourself will get you more progress, reach out and positively impact others, and ultimately grow more kindness and peace in the world.
Remember, procrastination IS part of your project, and your overall progress. Embrace it!

It's 5 Random Gratitudes Time!

When you wake up in the morning, find things to be grateful for. Your day will go more positively, smoothly, and harmoniously, and you will find that at the end of the day, when you go to bed at night, you will have even more things to be thankful for --- IF you do the work of remembering and listing them, in your head, or on paper!

It's 5 Random Gratitudes Time!
Me:
1)Had a date last night that was even better than I expected it would be. It included great conversation over delivered Chinese food and him being probably the best conversationalist I have ever talked with. He asked me a question, "When was the first time you had naked fun with someone?" and it brought up answers that were sometimes traumatic (given my abusive childhood) and wonderful because I had not thought about the happy first times with a peer in a very long time!
2)I am in one of my favorite hotels.
3)Mild weather with rain.
4)My renewed dreams, hopes, and expectations.
5)An arts grant I am applying for has a slightly extended deadline.

You?
