Canceling Lansdowne Farmer's Market tomorrow...

Dear Friends & Total Complete Strangers!
Just letting you know that because of the predicted rain and the fact that I'm not feeling well, I will not be able to make the Lansdowne Farmer's Market event tomorrow... I look forward to returning next year, and there may be a chance if I fill in for someone else this year...

Thanks very much,
Cassendre

Soumate Attraction: Friday & Saturday Solo Dates!

SOULMATE ATTRACTION: lf you are single or otherwise available on Fridays or Saturday nights, consider making one or both of those your own solo date night(s). Last Friday I took myself to see a movie (Wonder Woman!) and tonight I feel like staying in and relaxing. Remember, the nights you would normally want to use with a partner you can make it a night with, for, and by yourself....joyously!

How I Do Angel Readings

...where I receive messages from God/dess, ascended masters, your angelic guardians, spirit guides and teachers, ancestors, and soulmates in every direction of time) is hear the persun talk, then i write down messages I receive, then explain the messages in a spiritual counseling method, then give the client the written notes. If you have a way to audio record the session to take with you, please bring that. My rate is $75/hour ($60 sliding scale for low income), more if a lot of counseling is involved or if the session goes longer. All of this is negotiable! The notes are either handwritten or emailed if I or the client brings the equipment. I would want to hold an item that is either metal or natural stone or crystal and usually worn on your persun. Usually people are very pleased and moved by the reading, although it often includes homework they can choose to do or not do if they want resolution, so it isn't exactly a party favor and it isn't a parlor trick so it isn't totally "fun" but it can be very comforting and ultimately exciting!

Soulmate Attraction: Treat Yourself, Wonder Persun!

So, one of the biggest things about attracting a compatible mate is doing for and with yourself what you would enjoy with a partner (sorry, the period key does't seem to be working on my tablet right now / I guess I need to charge it / That means I'm doing a lot of writing these days, whoo-hoo!)
Tonight I was thinking about what my options were for this evening, and what I would want if my new compatible mate were here / I would want to go to the movies!
So I decided to do that, and searched for the kind of movie I wanted to see (a "Calgon, take me away", fluff movie / nothing like the thinkie films I sometimes enjoy at Ritz Movie theaters with their scrumptious ice cream bars / I recently saw A Quiet Passion there and recommended it!), and then bought the ticket (Wonder Woman)! / I was rewarded to get a total of 2 dollars and 36 cents because I received a credit from the movie ticket company!
I'm excited to see that movie tonight, and be on a date with myself, because it's fun!
Also, it occurred to me that much of soulmate attraction is just plain law of attraction - doing what you love just because you want it and you want to attract more of it and you are worthy of it /
I also was reminded of how similar it is to self-love re: body image issues / Loving your body now as it is, and not waiting until anything changes with it / How would you want to live if your body never so-called "improved"? Live that way now/ How would you want to live if you never met your new compatible mate? Live that way now! Don't just do these things as assignments for the sole purpose of having an ideal body or mate / Do them simply because they are the right and self-loving thing to do / Do them simply because you are worthy of a good, happy, and fulfilled life You are!
Solo or partnered, ideal body or not, make yourself a beautiful Friday night / I know I will!

Joyously,
Cassendre

Cried at My Poetry Reading Last Night (1st Time)!

So, I cried at my poetry reading last night... Sobbed while I was reading this poem. It was great! I haven't cried at one of my readings ever. And I have only ever cried at one of my concerts... When I was singing "Letters from Heaven".
Anyway, here is the poem that made me cry, and see my comments for the order info if you'd like the chapbook it's in ("secrets & lies: poetry and other words"). Hope you have a great day, and check out my Free, 24-hour Inspiration Line at 215-552-8850... I've been updating it daily!

Dear Chest, Stomach, and Heart: I'm Sorry

Mar 14, 2016

by Cassendre Xavier

Dear chest, stomach, and heart
I'm sorry
I'm sorry I don't have control of my eating

And I've hurt you so much over the last few days
Even though I know I ought not
I ate heavy, fatty foods I knew would strain you
And hurt you
And make you cry

I'm sorry
I'm sorry I cannot control my eating
And that I have not been able to since I was a child
I know that I have been this way since I was very small
And 27 years of twelve-step "programming" didn't help, either

I'm sorry
I'm sorry I cannot control my eating
As I type at this computer
Completely bent over from the pain
In my chest, stomach and heart
I'm sorry

I'm sorry I ate not one but two large
Chocolate bars today
And no fruit whatsoever
I'm sorry
I'm sorry I drank a fraction of the amount
Of water I ought to drink every day
Especially given my size, my weight
And the prescription drugs I'm putting you through
Will you forgive me?
Can you forgive me?

The angels tell me you already have
And that, being Nature, you cannot help
But to do your job
You work for me
You work for god
You work for Goddess who leads him

I thank you, chest
I thank you, stomach,
And I thank you, heart
For being with me and working for us
Each day, whether I am giving you much to work with
Or not
Whether I am going easy on you
Or not

I thank you, chest
I thank you, stomach,
And I thank you, heart

I continue to try
And pray to do better
The angels tell me to recognize my progress
Not be hard on myself
And focus on things getting better for me in all ways
Including my gentle treatment of you
And all who work for me
I now focus on the gentle treatment of myself
And I recognize my progress:

Other than when I go "off the wagon" I eat more healthfully
Every year that passes
It is my progress that makes me notice
When I've done badly
It is my progress that has raised my standards for myself
It is my progress that allows me to write this blog
Because I know I am healing
I know I'm getting better, even though I still do things
That make me want and need to say
I'm sorry.

Alternative, Creative Ways to Accept Credit for Sales

THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX: Decided to stop stressing about using my Square contactless chip reader for the first time at my event tomorrow night, and instead to be creative about how I offer folks ways to pay by credit!

W
ays to accept credit at gigs:

a) Paypal on the spot (using your or their phone or tablet, etc.)
b) Take now, pay later (Trade contact info, and later arrange payment)
c) Accept personal checks (Take contact info, etc.)
d) Accept EBT/SNAP: A featured poet once said she accepted food stamps for her chapbooks - after the gig they'd just go across the street and the buyer would buy a box of cereal or whatever. I loved that!

(If you have any more ideas, please comment!)

Wisdom Magazine June submission! (Remembering to Dream...)

Dear Friends & Total Complete Strangers!

CONTENT:
Remembering to Dream: Focusing on the Positive Throughout Life's Challenges
by Cassendre Xavier
Recently I was reading a wonderful book by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer called You'll See It When You Believe It: The Way to Your Personal Transformation In it, he teaches how we can create positive change in our lives by being conscious of our thoughts and allowing the universe to flow with our positive intentions.
In one chapter, he discusses abundance mentality and scarcity mentality.
The book helped me see that for the last several years I had been living several areas of my life with an outlook and expectation of scarcity. I was surprised!
How could this be?
I am such a postive-thinker, so focused on having high thoughts and finding the blessing in even the seemingly worst of circumstances. I am the queen of making not only lemonade out of lemons, but heck, champagne out of tap water! How could this have happened!
Now, don't get me wrong - I was tha-RILLED to learn this about myself... Because now... Now, I could make a change!
I would like to share what occurred to me, and see if any of it resonates with you:

Are there areas in your life that are very easy for you to manifest and do well in? Areas that are easy, breezy, and in which you expect things to go smoothly?

For me, two areas are pretty smooth sailing: Finding computer equipment, and finding sweethearts! I have, as my Law of Attraction associate Lorna Sophia Levy teaches, "little resistance" in those areas.
I also always feel that no matter what, something will always come through and help me in emergencies, so I will always have my basic life's needs covered, even if what I have doesn't appear to be satisfying to most people.

So, those are areas that I always have relaxed, and postive thoughts and expectations about. I have an abundance mentality and outlook around always having computer equipment, romantic companionship, and my very basic life need met.

Then, there are the areas in my life that I have the opposite outlook in... a scarcity mentality. Those are: Finding steady comfortable housing, finding steady gainful employment, and doing what I love for a living. (I can always do what I love, but starve in the process, apparently... Ha!)

So, in reading this chapter of Wayne Dyer's book, I saw quite clearly that I had been complaining about and feeling rather blocked in several areas of my life, from what serves as my office, to my inability to find steady housing, employment, and financially rewarding artistic and creative work.

Since that moment I have begun reframing all of these areas in my mind, and applying the same techniques and changes of thinking I do to other areas in my life.

Make a list of the areas in your life you have abundant thinking, and do well in.
Then, make a list of the areas in your life you have scarcity thinking, and do poorly in.

Then, coach yourself in the scarcity areas, and most important, be aware of your thoughts during the day, to be sure you aren't shooting yourself in the proverbial foot, attracting worse circumstances to reaffirm your beliefs in something being not possible for you.
Focus on what you have, what you can do, and always on what you love. Do not give any time to complaing or focusing on problems. Focus instead on solutions or options or best yet, simply moving towards what you do want.

When you do this, you will find changes come very very quickly, because the universe really wants to bring you want you want. It cannot bring you what you want when you complain, any more than a restaurant patron can order food with complaints... only requests.

Less than three days after I stopped complaining about the office I was using, I decided I could easily find another place to be, and learned that a place I would love to work was hiring, and fast! (Unfortunately the job wasn't quite a fit for me, but it was pretty darned close and huge progress considering I had been unhappy in the current office space for years and had no concept that I could have anything better given my finances.)

We don't have to have everything change for the best overnight... but you can expect positive changes very quickly. Progress, not perfection, as the 12 Steppers say!

Another example of how my life has been turning around very quickly in practicing abundance mentality in all areas of my life, is that I did receive a solution to a problem practically overnight, just because I had a strong desire and followed it up with a belief that I could have it:

I wanted very much to share what I had been learning about staying positive during life's hard times, in a workshop, and I wanted to find a venue that would be a good fit for me and easy to use, and within my budget. I decided I was even willing to do this workshop for free! (Wayne also shared in this book that he began giving away his books to friends, just from abundance, instead of always feeling he had to sell them... And lo and behold, giving them away got those folks to buy more books... for their friends and acquaintances!) So I knew that if what I really wanted was to share what I was learning, God and the universe and the angels... Everything holy, would support my dream.
Less than twenty-four hours later I was at a reception for other recipients of a grant I had recently received, and learned that that meeting space is available to us to present workshops free of charge to the community! So, guess who inquired that evening and since then has been in dialogue with booking that? You got it, it's me!

So, in closing, please remember that staying positive is easy when things are good, but it's easy to slip into the negative when times are hard.
Allow your feelings, but then remember to refocus your power and intention on the abundance of the universe, because what we focus on grows, what we expect, expands... And we always have a choice in what we focus on.

Be on the look out for my workshop of the same name, in the Greater Philadelphia area, and if you're in the neighborhood, hope you can join us...

In the meantime, I wish for you positive thinking and awareness of your power of co-creation!
