"Hope" Fundraising Budget Back To $4,000

Dear Friends!
Regarding: Help Me Fund My New CD "Hope"
We have brought the budget back to its original $4,000 to cover all studio costs. As much as I'm used to being solo and focusing moreso on the CD manufacturing, everyone is entitled to be compensated for their work. I'm thrilled to have this opportunity to step up my game, collaborate more, and have other folks around me to make these kinds of decisions. Because, left to her own devices, the renaissance negresse would be, well, left on her own!

Please give what you can by Jan.20 and I will try to let go and let be what will.
Thank you!

GoFundMee Campaign for "Hope" CD (deadline Jan. 20!)

Dear Friends,

I am so excited to share that my new and 7th album "Hope" will be released on Friday, February 13th, 2015 at the Tin Angel, 20 S. 2nd St., Philadelphia, PA., 8pm, $10 (Tickets available at http://tinangel.com).
Featured artists will include: Monica McIntyre, Phyllis Voren, Roadshow Relics, and Tracy Mace.

So much has happened in my life since my previous recording 6 years ago ("Capable of Love"), including the passing of my partner and the many changes in the music, recording, and publishing industries, all of which have worked together to inspire me to create more than ever.

I would love it if you'd assist me in the final costs of producing, mixing, mastering, manufacturing, and distributing this largely print-on-demand effort, ideally by January 20th as we submit the project for manufacturing no later than the 21st.

I am working with my brother Giscard Xavier, aka Giz (hard "G" as in "Gus"), who is a record producer, engineer, photographer and graphic designer. Giz produced my albums Beautiful, Live at Cafe Improv, and live at the kraftbrau, kalamazoo!

I will share more about the funding specifics but the renaissance negresse she is so busy if I don't upload this thing now, there won't be any time to fundraise at all! Wackiness!

Please give what you can before the 20th, and I know the universe will continue to provide everything we need, and we'll have just the right amount of CDs at the event. Thank you and I'll check back soon with more videos and pics for YOU!

Too cold! Michele Belluomini's reading rescheduled for April 9th!

Greetings, Friends!

Just want to let you know that Michele Belluomini and I decided to postpone her feature at the Women's Writing & Spoken Word Series at Big Blue Marble bookstore tonight due to inclement weather. It's super cold, with "brutal winds" and "dangerous cold" as the website that posted school closings today said, In Delaware and Philadelphia, schools were open 2 hours later. So, we just felt it was prudent to reschedule. Michele will be featuring on Thursday, April 9th. Save the date! We will have our event in February as usual, and announce the featured readers soon.
 Thanks and stay warm!

Christine Havrilla residency at Sarah Street Grill!

Dear friends,

Just sharing a Facebook post with some back story for ya. Hope you likey!

Christine Havrilla residency at Sarah Street Grill!

Cassendre Xavier and Christine Havrilla. Photo credit: William Bowden 12Dec2010.
---------------------------------------
Backstory by Cassendre:

17 Dec 2010 - So a few weeks ago I discovered that 88.5 FM WXPN "Amazon Country" radio show host Debra D'Alessandro listed 2 "Favorite Local Bands" on her xpn.org home page. The first one was Christine Havrilla. The 2nd name completely shocked me: Cassendre Xavier. What? Whoa! What an honor!
Around 1994, 1995 I was working with a musician/producer/engineer, the late Juan Avila who at the time had recommended me to check out Christine's music. I was playing a 12-string Ovation at the time, and I believe she was playing 12-string, too. Over the years, I would see Christina now and then, at Tin Angel, etc., but we'd never met. Recently, she moved to Portland, Oregon and my new friend Bob Beach has a house concert series (Beach House Concerts) that I wanted to check out. Every time I received a notice of a new Beach House Concerts, I'd comb the list for any female singer songwriters who maybe worked the way I did so I could go learn and socialize and enjoy music. When I saw Christine was scheduled to appear, it was a no-brainer. I had to go! So I went, met her and was thrilled that she remembered me from all those years ago, and even knew about my "poetry" events (WomensWritingSeries.org)! To top it off, she used equipment that allowed a singer to sing overdub harmony vocals and play both lead, rhythm, etc. Called a "loop" system. Awesome. So I had a great time, met nice people, enjoyed a wonderful concert and made a new friend in music, Christine. Visit her atwww.ChristineHavrilla.com. ~Cassendre.
